과장님과 맛있는 곳을 찾아 1시간 가량을 기다린 끝에 자리를 잡아 저녁식사를 했다. 저녁식사라는 것이 술 한잔씩 걸치고 따르는 것이긴 하다. 회사 앞도 아닌 지하철과 택시를 타고 간 곳이고 보면 과장님이 참 미식가라는 생각이 다시 한번 든다. 혼자라면 그렇게 기다리지 않았겠지만, 여튼 그렇게 기다리면서 먹는 것도 이색적이라는 생각도 들었고, 길게 줄을 늘어선 사람들을 보면 참 나와 다르다는 생각도 들었다.
빈 속에 술을 먹어서 그런지, 아니면 매운 안주와 함께 술을 먹어서 그런지 술이 빨리 취하는 것 같았다. 집에 도착한 지금도 머리가 아픈걸 보면 단지 술의 양을 떠나, 오늘 술이 과했다는 생각도 든다. 덕분에 괜찮았던 기분을 다 망쳤다.
속이 안 좋고 머리가 아프다. 이런데도 사람들은 왜 술을 좋아하는지 모르겠다. 자야겠다. 너무 생각이 많다.

오랜만에 여유로운 일요일을 보냈다. 오랜만에 학교가서 운동을 하다보니 예전 대학시절 생각이 났다. 아직 학교에 남아있는 녀석들이 있어서 아직은 어색하지 않게 학교 건물들을 출입하고 있지만, 시간이 지나면 '아 내가 여기서 많은 시간을 보냈구나' 하는 생각이 들 날이 오겠지...
집으로 돌아오는 길에 학교다닐때 종종 그랬던 것처럼 떡볶이 순대를 파는 포장마차에 들러 친구와 이런저런 이야기를 나누었다. 이야기를 할수록 내가 생각했던 결론은 없어지고... 시간이 갈수록 해답이 없어지는 문제들이 왜 그렇게 많아지는지... 절대권력이 있을때 사람들이 오히려 더 행복할 수 있다는 말에 문득 그럴 수도 있다는 생각이 들었다. 생각하지 않아도 되니까... 주어진 자유만큼 더 많은 생각을 해야하고 더 많은 문제들을 혼자서 풀어나가야만 하는 것이 결코 쉬운 일이 아니잖아.
이때라는 듯이 회사에서 시간에 쫓긴다. 다행인지 불행인지 해야할 일이 산더미가 된 것 같다. 답답하고 화가 나지만, 예정이나 된 것처럼 갑자기 닥치는 일들이 마냥 싫지만도 않다.
시간이 지날수록 후회가 참 많이 된다. 인정할 수 밖에 없다. 나라는 사람도 참 말릴 수 없는 녀석이라는 생각도 들었다. 참 한가한 녀석이다. 그러면서도 한발씩 움직이기조차 어렵다.
왜 이세상 사람들이 하는 생각은 딱 두 종류라는 생각을 하게 된 걸까... 그것이 나를 어렵고 답답하게 하는데도.
내일은 출근하는 길이 답답하겠는걸... 생각으로도 일을 다 끝내지 못하겠으니...

황금같은 주말 시간을 H, SM과 같이 보내고 H 집에서 토요일 밤을 보냈다. H와 SM은 여느때처럼 게임을 즐기느라 밤을 지새우는 듯 싶었고, 나는 날을 새지 말자는, 느닷없이 생긴 거추장스러운 행동 양식에 따라 잠이 들었다.
해가 떠서, 일주일 중에서 가장 축복받은 요일이 밝았건만, 집안이 온통 잠의 기운으로 가득하여, 일찍 일어난 나는 별수없이 컴퓨터 앞에 앉아 영화를 보았다. '내 생애 가장 아름다운 일주일'...
최근에 본 한국영화로는 '너는 내 운명'이 있었고, 그 이후의 첫 한국영화다. 예고편이 코믹스럽고 재미있게 보여서 보고 싶은 마음이 있었는데, 다행이 이제서야 볼 수 있는 이런저런 환경이 되어 보게 되었다.
지극히 주관적인 관점에서 보는 베스트 씬은 마지막 부분에서 배우 주현이 극장에서 자작 영상물을 띄우는 장면이었다. 나이에 걸맞지 않게 어린아이와 같은 순수한 마음과 서투른 모습들이 매력을 끌었다.
모든 에피소드의 등장인물이 각각 여러형태로 삶의 어려움을 겪으면서 그것을 극복하는 과정을 그리고 있다. 사실 게중의 어느 주인공들도 형편이 더 나아진 것은 아니었으며, '극복'이라는 표현을 쓰기엔 부족한 면이 많다. 다만, 비록 '끔찍한' 생이라고 할지라도, 그들이 스스로의 존재이유를 찾고, 더불어 현실을 이해하고 받아들였다고 보는 것이 더 영화의 결론에 가깝지 않나 싶다. 하지만 그것마저도 현실속에서 받아들이는 것은 참으로 힘든 것을...
그냥... 나는 이렇다.
"한번으로 족하다! 이 끔찍한 삶이여. 그만!"

When the Pirates take the field in 2006, I think they will be one of the best, if not the best, defensive baseball teams in the league. Do you agree?

Chris Duffy was nothing short of spectacular in center field as a rookie. If there is any weakness in this area it is behind the plate, although Humberto Cota and Ryan Doumit showed signs of improvement a year ago.

The team has given away far too many extra outs since moving to PNC Park, and this has led, directly and indirectly, to a lot of losses in close games.
