Dontrelle's excellent pitching didn't get any compentation as batters struggled through whole game.  The only score was from the home run by Mike Lowell in third inning. That' it. Willis pitched 8 1/3 innings, giving up only 1 run. His ERA rosed a little, but still he is leading the whole league with 0.69. This was his 6th start and first no decision game this year.

Padres reponded the home run in the bottom of 3rd to make the game tie with Mark Lorreta's one. Until 11th when Padres got winning run to end the game, two teams had been got no score. Miguel Ojada hit the walk-off hit from Marlins relief pitcher Mike Gonzalez.

After 5 consecutive winning streak, Marlins end the streak and maintain at second place. The gap to first place New York Mets didn't change due to Mets' loss by 0.5. Marlins will meet Padres again for the second game of the series, sending Carlos Zambrano to the mound for their starting pitcher.
